This last Monday was a bank holiday and I had the day off, Why you ask? Well, because I work at a bank. Now I am as surprised as you that my biting wit and deft ninja agility with a pen (or in this case a keyboard) are not paying the bills, but if more of you tell your friends about me and their threshold of entertainment is as low as yours then I can finally convince The Gap that I have enough visitors to advertise on my blog. Sorry for the digression, back to the story.
I had just dropped off the kids for school (yes my kids attend a communist boarding school that does not observe and celebrate the sacred occurrence of the misdirected C. Columbus arriving in Puerto Rico to pillage and destroy the native Taino Indians (go ahead look it up, they're real) in the name of Spain, like the obviously more patriotic Banking System). Ihad kid #3 with me and we decided to stop at Jamba Juice for a early morning treat. I ordered a Orange Dreamaliciousicity (go ahead look it up, pretty sure it's not real) with an energy boost. I also ordered a kid's size of some other flavor that wouldn't make him puke, when the clerk, Kimi, clearly uncomfortable with having to tell a customer she couldn't do what they wanted this early in the morning, told me that they cannot order a kids size of a different flavor, because it's too small. I was marveling at the genius and efficiency of what she as saying while simultaneous holding back my purturbedness of not getting what I wanted when Kimi snapped me out of it. I decided not to be a jerk and argue, and conceded that it did make more sense for him to have the same flavor I had.
With me so far? I apologize for all of the side thoughts, I'll try to stay focused as we move on, thank fully I am almost done. After we had our drinks and were on the road again, I realized he had my leftovers, my exact leftovers, energy boost and all. At three years old I believe that a Jamba Juice energy boost is the equivalent of crack. I couldn't very well take it from him now, he had half of it gone, so I just hoped for the best and braced myself for the rest of the day.
