Now I think I have sufficiently established in the past that my wife's and my teaching and parenting styles are vastly different. This evening, I had a need to replace a nine-volt battery. So being the good father that I am, I wanted to make sure my youngest son understood the dangers of batteries. So I put it on his tongue. Now his mother who happened to be in the room as well, completely lost her mind. I think she thinks I radiated our child. I told her to relax, it wasn't going to kill him, worst thing it would do is dull his taste buds. After about three tries, he wanted to keep doing it (Note to self: Kid #3 appears to have an addictive tendency) all the while saying to him mother after every time, "See mom, it didn't kill me..."
dad's DO seem to have a different way of doing things. It kind of makes me think of the Simpson's episode where Homer draws bunnies on the electrical outlets..... :)
